As Chief Technology Officer and Deputy CIO for Academics & Research at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) — one of the nation's premier academic medical centers — Mark served for over three decades, culminating in his role as CTO from 2018 to 2026. In that capacity, he served as chief information technology strategist, developed enterprise technology roadmaps, and led large-scale architectural initiatives spanning clinical care, research, and academic operations.
Mark's landmark achievements at MUSC include leading the design and implementation of the institution's first Enterprise Data Warehouse, overseeing Epic EMR integration, establishing Health Information Exchange (HIE) connections, and directing the selection and negotiation of a new enterprise ERP system.
